    Hello to everyone,

I have to say first of all this is a fantastic site, by far the best resource for working with videos. Also, I have to apologize in advance if what I'm asking is obvious/covered, I've spent a lot of time trying to find an answer and couldn't, so I would really appreciate a bit of help.

I've been trying to transfer a few DVDs to my Apple TV. With the help of this site I've started using Handbrake and I had great results with it, still reading around I realized that this is not optimum as it transcodes the picture resulting in quality loss. As a result, I've looked into "muxxing" my way through. I've downloaded VOB2MPG and used it to get an .mpg file from the dvd that contains a much bigger (and not changed) mpeg1/2 video and AC3 & LPCM sound.

The question is simple: is there a way to "wrap" this with an mp4 container, thus manage to play it with my Apple TV?

thanks in advance, sorry if this sounds trivial, cheers!

    Panos

To note that I've tried using Mp4box GUI and avidemux to achieve that with no luck.

".MP4" is associated with AVC/AAC, so you're going to have to Xcode.

Thank you for your answer, understood, it's a codex thing right: you need to move to h264 for the mp4 to work I guess, thanks for confirming that!
