  1. Well, I finally got my first VCD to actually work like I wanted it to, which is great. I burned it onto a CD-RW using a menu (sort of, it didn't turn out like I thought it would but it works) and that allowed me to play my clip like I wanted it to. Now, since my DVD player obviously reads the CD-RW, does anyone know if it will read a CD-R? I don't want to waste the time burning a cd if its not going to work. Seems like to me that if it can read CD-RW it should read CD-R.

P.S. Anyone know any good sites to download video clips?

  2. Congratulations. I'll never forget my first happy day... ahh, "Phantom Edit..."

If your DVD player'll read cd-rw, it'll read cd-r or I'll eat my hat. Alternately, you could look up your model in the DVD players compatibility list on the toolbar to your immediate left.

As for downloading video, some people say Morpheus, some say KaZaa, some even scream about Grokster or (God bless its soul) Xolox.

I swear by edonkey, though. The new .60 version is fast as hell for me, and you can find ANYTHING on it.

Of course, I only use it to find .avi DIVX files of movies I have on DVD, since I don't have a DVD drive in my computer to make backups. To find movies you *don't* have is, strictly speaking, illegal.
