  1. I use Sefys DVD conversion guide 2.0
and i Always choose 16:9 source aspect like it said but
it always comes out in full screen.
    I want widescreen vcd.
What can I do differently so I can get WIDESCREEN.

  2. There are 2 things you MUST do in order to get the Wide Screen, they are:
    Source aspect = 16:9 Display
Video arrange method = Full Screen (keep aspect ratio 2)

This has not failed on me even once! heck, it even puts a Full Screen source DVD into a Wide Screen VCD

  3. sefy,

glad to know you're ok back there man!

my question is, how about using CUSTOM SIZE?
i've kept 4:3 aspect ratio, and instead used a custom size such as for 480x480 video, it'll be 448x352

i read somewhere you can trim the sides which doesn't show on tv anyway (at least on mine) and the 352 squishes it into widescreen.

so far it play perfectly on my mintek 2580....just wondering if you've tried these too?

    thanks
    Cheers~

  4. Thank you for the concerns, so far i'm in one piece, I have no intention of being a big hit on broadway

As for your question, I have tried the custom size, but it's not very practicle, cause you need diffrent settings for diffrent ratio's, not all movies use the same ratio, some are 1.76, others are 1.88, and so on...

Not to mention that for VCD and SVCD you will need diffrent numbers ;o)

  5. hey Sefy, wouldn't it be better to tell them to input for source aspect ratio what dvd2avi indicates it is?

there are plenty of widescreen movies that are 4:3 aspect ratio...entering in 16:9 as source would squish the video...

  6. Yes, that is a good idea, but it's a pity not many people take notice of such things
