You mean chromium the browser or chromium the OS? I don't know anything about the OS.

If you mean the browser, are you talking about streaming off the web? At least under linux chromium doesn't have a lot of things like a flash plugin built in. Chrome works better for most people.

That said, if it were something like that or a missing codec you should get a message saying so. Hopefully you'll get better answers. You need to specify where the video is coming from though (streaming or where the file is stored).

I just hope you don't do what many people do in this kind of situation, namely blindly loading a bunch of codec packs. That will likely make things worse.

I've only used chromium and chrome in linux but the situation is probably similar.

Chromium is a subset of chrome. It doesn't include the flash plugin. Chrome does.

I'd just uninstall chromium and install chrome.

I like some of the 'privacy' features of Chromium browsers, that lacks with Google.

The official Google Chrome wants to know to much info about me, and Opera has problems with other things, whereas I trade one problem for three other problems. Although if there really is not a work around, I will resort to installing Chrome.

just in case someone stumbles on this thread facing a similar situation, im going to answer here and not by PM, the website doesnt stream content, it just displays a grid of adverts to buy the tutorials, there's only a small minimal player that streams an advert to the video tutorial, its a "ugly" website that relies a lot on javascript (1.5mb) and it brings the homepage to a total size of 3.5mb, any browser will face some "sluggishness"....anyway i can play the small video adverts, the big splash ads/images with play button are not actual video players....just images....
