  1. Hello.

I'm looking for software for home video (vacation, family celebrations, etc) editing with the price about 100 € (120 USD). I want to edit FHD (AVCHD) video on my Windows 7/8 PC - cutting, adding text, music, ...

    I found Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 (99 $), Adobe Premiere Elements 11 (100 €), Pinnacle Studio 16 Plus (100 $), CyberLink PowerDirector 11 Ultra (72 €). EDIUS Neo 3.5 is with the price 165 € I think too expensive for me.

What do you recommend? I'm not experienced user so trial versions of products probably will not help me choose.

    Thank you

  2. The softwares from Adobe and Sony are scaled down versions of more advanced mature programs. Each has its pros and cons, Premier Element offers more automated features, but the interface can be limiting at times. Both run smoothly without issues, I can't say the same of the others (I've never heard of Edius Neo).

Vegas is known to have an intuitive interface. In Vegas, you look for the tools where you are working. You drill into the tools from anywhere. In Premiere, there's a lot of windows you have to monitor, and it's very blocky looking and confining.

    That's just my opinion.

  5. So your recommendation is Sony Vegas... OK, I'll try it. If someone else will have some advice or recommendations, I'll be happy.

  6. Look for the Vegas Movie Studio versions. They are less expensive than Vegas Pro and will probably do what you want.
