no.
acc isn't dolby by the way, that would be ac3.--

I think flv has very low support on settop units. I don't even think wdtv media players will play .flv files - though there are so many units now there might be one model that does support .flv from a usb drive.
What you can do is use winff or some similar program and "remux" them into a mp4 or mkv file. That is it will repackage them into the new file extension without reencoding.
You may run into some that have an error message that won't allow it to be remuxed. I still haven't found a way around that except to do a complete reencode.
But try the remuxing first.
Edit - oh and even if you have a dvd player that will play mp4 files it most likely won't play aac audio - you could reencode the audio to mp3 and that would do. Though I don't know of any dvd players that play h264 - there may be some but you would have to look hard for them.
Also dvd players won't play any high def files - they are limited to 720x480/576 and lower.
You would be better off investing in a sub 100.00 usd bluray player that has h264 file playback capability. I still don't think any have flv support but you can remux them to mp4 or mkv assuming the model you pick knows what mkv is. LG has models that play h264 mkv files from usb harddrives (and ntfs harddrives).
Edit - actually if you would be buying new equipment and don't need DISC playback look at a wdtv media player as they are about the most versatile unit you can find.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
The actual problem is the FLV container. Every container which was designed primarily for streaming
(ASF/WMV, RM/RMVB, and FLV) is very-pesky, to say the least.

lots of dvd players could play dixv. you could remux the flvs to avi with avidemux. would have been better with aac audio as divx won't accept ac3 but will play aac. you'll have to convert the audio. xmediarecode is another converter that has presets for dvd standalones that play divx/mp4.

@aedipuss - none of those dvd players could play true h264 though right? The original poster is talking about h264 not divx.
Though the newest divx is a variant of h264 is it not? Are there any dvd players that support this version of divx? (If I remember correctly - could be wrong).
otherwise going to divx would reguire a full reencoding not a reemux (the original divx format that the dvd players would recognize not the new thing).
If I am wrong about this please enlighten me.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
you're probably right, i never had a "divx" certified player. divx is ~h264. i never tried it but thought avidemux when rewrapping 264/aac to avi might be enough to fool the player. xmediarecode has dvd standalone divx/avi presets if re-encoding is required.
there were and maybe still are standalone dvd players that could play .mp4--

In the muxed version, duration is incorrect: also tried mp4 muxer, flv extract.....all have serious sync issues. Pulling hair out -
-
On a hunch I set framerate to 23.976.......duration is now correct and everything synced nicely. Appreciate all the help
