I'm looking to buy a Bluray player and am considering to buy the lg BH6420P 3D.

Can this be put region free ?

It's a Blu Ray player......and it's a 3D Blu Ray player.

Regular BluRay players are almost impossible to make region free, but a very small number can be.

I'm not sure if any 3D BluRay players can be made region free.

The odds are that this player cannot be made region free. Do note that "region free" on BluRay players usually only means for DVD playback. If you don't find any unlock codes for your player then that is unfortunately normal for 3d BluRay players.

Well, unless you are buying DVDs from the ex-USSR (region 5), an LG BluRay player sold in the UK would certainly be able to play region 2 DVDs whether you can hack it or not.

The LG BH6420P isn't a BluRay player, it's a 3D BluRay Home Theatre system. As far as I know, it can't be made Region Free - BUT European DVD's should play anyway, as they're Region 2 same as UK (and Japan, though NTSC).
If you want an LG 3D BluRay player, like the LG BP420 3D, or LG BP620 3D, as opposed to a home theatre system, and need it Region and Zone Free (for DVD's and BD's), they can be bought - http://www.mrmdvd.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=159

Actually I'm currently in Canada and bought this LG player. I wish to play my european DVD's here.
