    Hi there!

Lately I downloaded some videos that I can't really open! Every file has its name "Ex: namefile.avi.j2j"

The great problem is that in every way I tried I couldn't open it: rename file just as avi, zip, winrar.... I don't know how

Do you know something that can help me?

If you find a video file with a VERY-UNKNOWN file extension, quite probably it's just a piece of useless junk.

Especially if you obtain it through "dangerous" sites or filesharing applications (Ares, LimeWire, e-Mule, etc).

It MIGHT be helpful if you could open that J2J thing in a hexadecimal editor and show us the first 10 or 20 bytes of its content, but probably you have no idea of what I'm talking about.

  3. Also, some background information on how you downloaded would be nice. Did you download the videos using a video downloader program? Or are you just saving the link of a video?

  4. isn't j2j the extension used for 'Java to JavaScript'-integration Java servlet?
    see: http://www.servletsuite.com/servlets/j2j.htm

I download the video with a program called clubbox, but I found it in other sites and videos are ok and they are not Java to JavaScript, I mean... they are video of 400-500 mb

The only thing I'm sure is that it isn't a trojan

A file you can't open with a known javascript extension, you may want to consider the possibility.

But for grins, did you try just changing the filename by deleting the .j2j extension? Some unscrupulous folks use fake extensions to avoid getting arrested.

Clubbox According to Google, it's a Korean filesharing system or something.

Unlikely you'll find much help for that on this forum (I can be wrong though).

OK, then rename your *.avi.j2j to *.EXE, double-click it, and tell us what happens.

  10. Did you try searching for "clubbox and j2j ?"

The 1st hit reveals there is a file converter, use google tranlate on the korean site. A video shows you how to do it

(personally, I wouldn't install all this junk, very risky)

I tried this J2J25 but it doesn't work, this is the program that creates files J2J

I tried to renominate the file, but nothing is working.

I can't speak korean so, I can't contact Clubbox forum
