    hi Everyone,

in looking for a conversion tool that also worked with MXF I stumbled across Full Video converter. I started testing my BD's, and found that all audio was being downconverted to 16bit from their 24 bit sources.

I brought this to the attention of full video converter, they said they would fix it, and blew all the deadlines, then said they would pay me back, all just to delay the 45 days payment to paypal so live and learn, bad company and broken product!

any suggestions for a similar program pay or free that is mxf compatible, and maintains audio essence?

I guess you mean mxf files from pro camcorders like the sony xdcam?

Wont it work with some of the adobe products? Adobe premiere pro / encore.

I wouldn't trust any simple all-in-one converter for such conversions.

    Yes, thanks for thereply

i mean xdcam 50 and yes adobe will work but i really don't want a full blown editor, just transcode video and rewrap audio

I really cant believe that companies response. Is that par for the course?

Does anyone have some experience with them? Can i expect an update?

  4. How many tracks your audio has? You have to get something special to re-wrap audio into one stereo track without recompression for example. There was some program floating around ,I forgot its name. It was rewraping mxf into something with stereo audio.

I managed to put together a workflow, to do it manually. Nothing easy and straight forward though, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWb3bKTUvrA.

But to find a converter that reencodes video and re-wraps that mixed audio or will do it itself is another story, not sure if you find one, easy to use. I'd reencode video a then to mux rewrapped audio into mkv. If you do this just for playback, it will work in WDTV Live just rewrapped all with audio mix for example. Or perhaps others media players today.

thanks Al, I'll give it a shot on the weekend. Its actually going the opposite direction, making test MXF's from BD material but this will get me pretty close.

  6. ffmbc has xdcam presets

another non free way to do it is to use rovi totalcode (formerly mainconcept)

libav cannot decode 7.1 DTS-MA (only the core) . So if you have certain types of BD HD audio, you will have to use additional tools such as eac3to + arcsoft decoder
