  1. Hi i'm trying to put a small video together and need some advice on what free software to use that will remove an anoying watermark from one of the clips i need to use... it's a web address just down in the left hand corner of the video..is there something out there thats free and that will work in windows 8 to help remove this from a .wmv or mp4 clip. or is there anyone who would be willing to give it a try themselves in removing this...i'd really appreciate any help thanx

Most here use the free logo remover plugin with virtual dub. You can just put something over it, too. More disturbing is why it would annoy you. This usually happens when someone is trying to sell something they didn't make.

There are plug ins for vdub to import wmv or mp4. But the issue could be the underlying codecs contained in your source.

So, just convert the clip to a lossless avi format such as lagarith. Remove logo in vdub and export clip back as lagarith for your edit.
