  1. Hi i have a HD file from my Dreambox (DVR) which i believe is a MpegTS file. I want to edit the commercial out without any sync issues. and i was wondering how i can extract the video from it without having to reencode the file so i do not loose any video quality. I have tried Haali media splitter (gdsmux) and managed to get the video from it and also got the audio from tsMuxerGUI and have join it back up with mkvmerge. but when i play the file there are massive sync issues....is there any other way or other applications i can test instead of the one used above that does the same thing?

what else can i use instead of Haali media splitter (gdsmux)?

what else can i use instead of tsMuxerGUI?

what else can i use instead of mkvmerge?

    Can anyone help?

I guess it's a ts file with avc/h264 video? Identify with mediainfo if you don't know.

You can test free tssniper and H264TS_Cutter

If they fail try the more up to date Solveigmm video splitter or Videoredo h264 suite but they are not free....test the free trials first.

Last remux the output from those with mkvmerge.

  3. MPEG-TS 29.3GB
    1 Video Stream is AVC
    2 Audio Stream Mpeg Audio/AC-3
1 Text Stream : teletext Subtitles

All i want to do is make this into a MKV/MP4 File without any quality loss and then hopefully cut the commercials out.

But i want to make into a MKV/MP4 container first...If someone could post some instructions i would be over the moon.

Currently having sync issues with what ive read on the net...so want to try something different.

  4. Try TS-Doctor for cutting and ts stream cleaning without quality loss. This tool allows you to remux your ts recordings to mkv, too.
The above mentioned applications are also capable of fulfilling your needs, but they are more expensive.

DO you get sync issues if you convert the ts directly to mkv with mkvmerge? Without using gdsmux.
