  1. CPU Cooler, Video card and PSU aside....

What are the makes/models of some cases that are designed to be quiet?

Apparently some cases even contain sound deadening panels but I just wanted to ask for opinions here in case any of you personally own a very quiet PC.

  2. I own a fairly quiet one. No sound dampening foam on the inside though.... just a minimum number of holes. It doesn't have any side/top fan cutouts etc, and the front fans are behind a panel and not exposed directly to the outside air. I keep the case fans spinning pretty slowly so the whole thing's pretty quiet.

Keep in mind though "quiet" cases achieve "quiet" by not having holes and fan cutouts all over them which means they mightn't be as good at keeping the stuff inside cool either, although my CPU is slightly overclocked and I don't have any heat issues. I'm not a gamer running a hot video card though.

Off the top of my head Coolermaster makes a case called the "Silencio" (I think). It's similar to my case except the panels are lined with acoustic foam and it has a front panel which opens like a door to give you access to the Optical drives etc. I think they make a few different models of a "quiet" case, as no doubt do some of the other manufacturers.

No worries, thank you so much mate.

Although the acoustic foam will only take care of higher frequencies I will look at their cases

I have an Antec Fusion desktop case that was supposed to help reduce noise (discontinued) and seemed to. They also have the similar NSK2480.
I also have the NSK3480 tower case and it seems to be relatively quiet. I do however have a low powered CPU (i3-2100T) and the complete computer only used 20W at idle.
