If you look at ebay and type in ezcap:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=ezcap&_sacat=0&_from=R40
you see many devices that look like the real thing --see screenshot that was taken from ezcap website, http://www.ezcap.tv
You can see the prices for the devices that look like the real thing go as low as $20 including shipping. Some of the entries say, "from China".
My questions are: Are all these legit EZcap devices? If not, how could anybody differentiate the real from the fake, since the outward appearance of the device is the same? If they are all the same electronics on the inside, I might as well buy the $20 one. I could still get any needed drivers from the official ezcap website.

Yes, there are fake EZCaps that look like the real one and that even come in boxes similar to the packaging for the real one. The maker of the real EZCap http://www.ezcap.tv/ talks about that. If the seller listed on ebay is not ezcap.tv then it is a fake.
You can't tell what is on the inside by looking at the outside. There have been other capture devices than the EZCap 116 that used the same enclosure in the past. If the electronics inside are not the same, the drivers for the real EZCaps won't work.
