Yep just saw the naval battle section for Assassins Creed 3. Absolutely stunning!

The depth and overall presentation just sold it totally. You actually felt like you were on a boat. I was even just watching an sd stream of it and was still very impressed.

This was the first true gameplay footage i've seen for ac3. All the other stuff has said "gameplay" footage but it has all been cutscenes. They look good but I've been wanting to see the actual ingame engine. I must say if the rest of the game looks a fraction like this scene this will be astounding.

    I can't wait for 10/30/12!

That means I'll only have a month and a half to finish the game before the end of the world! Thats not enough time to enjoy it properly

You want more? The third installment (numbered series that is - fifth console game of course) of the game is supposed to be about the end of the world!

Well its almost here I'll be picking it up Tuesday night. Definitely looking forward to putting 40 or more hours into it.

I'm debating about buying the strategy guide too. I think I probably will so I can gun for all the side missions and little stuff to collect. I know I won't be able to get a 100% trophies on it, not since AC started having multiplayer, I haven't played the AC multiplayer at all, well just a little. Its not that its bad or anything I just wasn't interested in it, same with the Uncharted multiplayer, not interested just give me the story.

Oh and fyi I'll be getting the ps3 version as I've finished all the ac games on the ps3 not the 360 so my "muscle memory" is for the ps3 controller not the 360. (that it'd be AC 1, 2, Brotherhood and Revelations naturally).

I'm so close to finishing Tales of Graces F. I'm just over 40 hours in and I'm in the Lastallia base now ready for the final (hopefully final) confrontation with Richard/Lambda.

I'll definitely be looking forward to AC3. The graphics just seem to be out of this world and the look and feel is just like the other AC games with hopefully some modest but not game breaking tweaks.

Picked it up on launch, great looking game

I'm really liking it already. The tweaks aren't earth shattering but noticeable in the combat health system and other gameplay components. Though it is still clearly an assassins creed game.

I'm already into sequence 3. I can see putting 50 or 60 hours into this easily. I did buy the strategy guide so I intend to fully dive into all the back alleys and side missions in the game.

Ya know, all things considered, for the money you pay for the good games, the amount of hours of entertainment is amazing. To go to a movie I will pay $12 to $15, plus popcorn (which is priced at the ridiculous now), and 1.5 hours later I'm done. At 1.5 hours you are not close to even finishing a quarter of the first level of a quality game yet.

  7. I saw the commercials for this video game when I watched last week's episode of "Impact Wrestling". It looks like it is a battle between the British and the Americans. I will have to consult Wikipedia to find out who actually won that war. For those interested in faster paced games then "Assassin's Creed 3", I started a thread in the "Off Topic" forum, about free computer games; the thrills and edge of your seat excitement of Solitaire and Sudoku. Well in all seriousness the graphics that I saw in the commercials for Assassin's Creed 3, looked spectacular and so real.

I guess you don't read previews of games or the rumor mill stuff much huh? It was fairly well known it was going to be the American Revolution for quite awhile now.

If on the other hand you had no interest in the Assassins Creed franchise than I understand a lack of knowledge of it. I fully admit to not paying much attention to games I have no intention of playing.

Yes that is the one true hallmark for any assassins creed game. The realism of all of them is through the roof. It is the definition of immersion.

Actually that is a bit inaccurate. True its not a run and gun game like halo or call of duty but there are spurts of action that are truly intense. Its much more like the older metal gear games. Stealth and brief bursts of intense action.

    Totally agree with you there.

I put almost 60 hours into each Assassins Creed games (except for the first which didn't quite have as much to do in it as the sequels).

I"ve also put nearly as much time into Tales of Vesperia and Tales of Graces F. Not to mention all of the Halo games and the two Arkham batman games and Red Dead Redemption.

Each of these have cinematic moments in them. They can rival some of the best movies out there. Plus you get more invested in the characters than in some movies. Especially the more fluff movies. Even a "fluff" game can draw you into its characters or at least its combat system where you get fully engaged in it.

  9. yoda313: I was trying to make a joke that I was totally ignorant of how the American Revolution turned out; no offense was intended. I am impressed with the graphics. The only games I have ever played have been Nintendo; the NES, Super Nintendo and Nintendo Wii. My sister bought the machines over the years, and we had only a few games, mostly Super Mario. I recently saw the Zelda game, it was about 20 bucks and I thought that was a bargain and bought it for her as a gift. I was also trying to make a joke that Solitaire and Sudoku had more thrills and excitement than Assassins Creed 3. I know my jokes stink; sorry.

I am not into the shooter games, but I do notice the commercials and the technology is really advancing. From what I saw on the ad for the game, if this style of game was to your preference, that one could get many hours of entertainment from it.

Well I just finished ac3. Scratch that I haven't completed the epilogue missions yet but apparently they aren't too deep so it shouldn't take me long to completely finish it.

Suffice it to say I saw the credits so for the most part yes I finished it.

I sort of cheapened the experience a bit by just focusing mostly on the main story missions. I really didn't do any of the side missions and such. I do intend to get to them and I won't be trading the game in any time soon.

The ending was nice. It could have been a bit more involving than it was but I think all in all it was very good.

Obviously I won't say anything as it would ruin it for anyone that has played any of the previous games.

    -----------------

Well now its off to halo 4 for me And per my other thread the older "tales of" games.

And I will take the time to finish Tales of Graces F and now the epilogue missions for AC3 to complete the experience.

I think I ended up with close to 20 hours into AC3. I just spent 4 hours tonight to finish it (started at 8pm est to get into sequence 11). The pacing was really good for the story telling.
