    Hey all,
I'd like to take a track from the isolated score from Twilight Zone: The Movie and create a 5.1 out of it. Not only is it in Stereo, but it has a fairly wide "field".
Now, does anyone know which dialogue normalization settings and compression profile I should use? I'm not sure how to set dialogue normalization when there is no dialogue. As for the profile, wouldn't it be "music"?
As for the mixing itself, I think I'll stick with the V.I Suite. I really like it.
I've already tried the V.I. Suite, normalization of -27 and the profile set to "music". However, it sounds less "powerful" than in plain Stereo!
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
    Please advise
    Thanks,
    Justin

Supposedly the DVD and BluRay both have 5.1 AC3 soundtracks (I don't own this so I cannot verify). I would think your time would be better spent either just buying it or finding a way to borrow a copy so you can rip the soundtrack from it.

No offense, but I have a pretty negative opinion of what you're trying to do as do quite a few of us, but hang in there if you want to go the cheap route and do this anyway rather than spend money on a new copy with 5.1 sound. Requests like yours do eventually get answers as we have a very small number of people here who actually do this kind of thing.

Hi. I think I was misleading and or you misinterpreted my intentions.

I own the Blu-ray of "Twilight Zone The Movie" and yes, it has a 5.1 track on it. I also own the film's isolated score, on CD.

I didn't mean I wanted to do anything with the 5.1 from the actual film. I meant that I wanted to take one of my favorite tracks from the score, the CD, and create a 5.1 out of it, as the isolated score is in Stereo.

I don't want all that's included in the film's soundtrack, such as vocals, effects, etc. I only want the music, hence my trying to use the isolated score that's on the CD, the Official SoundTrack. I'm not trying to utilize the film's actual soundtrack in any way.
