My current BD player (LG BD350) is dying, i dont mind the loading times on it, it seems to play all my discs so far, am lookign for the same thing really, but with usb support to play files through the player that are 1080p mp4 files (only about 1.6gb in size, so not full on blu ray files etc)
i dont really want multiple devices (BD player AND a WD media player for example)
any thoughts on a good budget model?

  2. I don't know about the current lineup but I have an LG BD670 that works pretty well. I usually use it to play from Windows network shares but it can also play from USB devices.

  3. I have an LG BD670 as well. For ~ $100 bucks it has a lot of features. 3D, built in wireless, plays files from USB.

I got mine for 3D capability, and have only tested playing (large, ~10GB) 1080p (H264/AC3) MKVs on it via ntfs formatted external powered hard drive. It plays fine, although navigation is a little slow for browsing to files compared to playing the same directly from hard drive to my LG 65LW6500 TV. The BD670 also has SmartTV if you want that.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!
