Hi folks, been using this trial for a few days now..like the features,
but have an obvious audio sync issue when burning DVD titles.

However, it works fine for me for doing VCD titles. My question is
    this...

I'm using vcd compliant files that work in NERO 5 perfectly,
and Ulead DVD Movie Factory, but for some reason Ulead DVD
Workshop keeps wanting to REENCODE my mpeg1 files,
    which takes forever.

How do I made this program NOT reencode my mpeg1 files?

    thanks

  2. I have the same problem. I would like to use my TMPGEnc encoded MPEGs and not those encoded by DVD Workshop.

I just hope there is a solution to this problem.

    Thank you

  4. Would it be possible to replace the MPEG files in the Disk Image created by DVD Workshop (*.ixa) with MPEGs encoded by TMPGEnc? Would this have any effect on the menu's or chapters?

    winman42,

I'm not certain I can help as I don't use Ulead DVD Workshop, but I do use Ulead VideoStudio 6.0.

Make sure that whatever template your using, if applicable, is exactly the same settings as your file. If ANYHING is different it will re-encode the whole project which, YES, can be a long and arduous process.

So, frame size, frames per second, data kbps, audio kbps and file type, i.e., mpeg 1, mpeg 2, field order a or b, avi .....etc....whatever must be the same as the file your are wanting to render and or burn or it will re-encode to the template specifications.

This is how VideoStudio works. If I capture, edit and render all with the exact same settings, encoding is literally a matter of seconds or minutes depending of the length of the project of course.

These suggestions may totally be off the mark as I don't use the product per se' but most family of products from the same software vendor are usually very similar.

  7. Actually, the easiest way it to open a new project in UVS6 using the same settings as a particular file is:

Start a new project. When specifying the project settings, just choose, "Template from an existing video file". It will set all of your relevant project settings to match a video that you specify, and match it exactly.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."
