Hello folks,
I have a bunch of avi files (XviD) and I would like to convert to one iPod format mp4 file. I would like to avoid transcoding multiple times for the sake for video quality.
- There are too many files, so I can not concatenate using VirtualDub, too cumbersome job.
- Format Factory will transcode (if that the correct term) them to put them into one file.
- Handbrake or VidCoder does not have this ability to join all the files before converting them to mp4 or converting to mp4 and then outputting one file.
Does anyone have trick that I did not think of?
Thanks in advance.

You could try Freemake video converter. Open all avi files. At top right select Join files. Click to mp4/ipod.
(Be sure to unselect any toolbars addons/adware when you install freemake.) -
MediaCoder has a ipod/iphone version http://www.mediacoderhq.com/device/ipod_download.html. You may drag your files on it; mark them all; rigth-click and select "Group" which will join them into a single output file.
