I am editing the videos taken using my Canon EOS 550D camera. I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 in my PC.

    my PC config is :
Intel Core 2 Du 3.2 GHz, Windows 7 64 bit, 1 TB SATA HDD, 6 GB DDR2 RAM.

I'm a novice in editing. I needed advise about the output format I should choose after editing.

My input file properties are :

    Type: .MOV
File Size: 208.3 MB (for a 5 sec long shot)
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Pixel Depth: 1920
    Frame Rate: 25.00
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
    Total Duration: 00:00:37:01
Average Data Rate: 5.6 MB / second
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0

I need output in best quality since i'm planning to project my short film in a movie theater.

Please help me to avoid loss in the video quality . Thanks in advance.

if you are going to play it in a theater then you better ask them what format they want.

surprised cs3 even opens video from that cam, it's pretty old.

    The 550D isn't old.
The more important issue would indeed finding out the expected specs of the theatre.

    Well.... yes and no...
I still use CS3 quite a bit, but CS4 is definitely more advanced.

I'd have to agree with you, by a narrow margin. CS3 is from 2007.

    thanks for replying.

the theatre projection facility can play dvd. thats what i'm going to do, play from dvd. but I want to avoid quality loss while exporting from Adobe. so I plan to convert into HD file itself, and write into DVD as a data disk, then I can pla in theatre from a PC connected with the projector.

What I need to know is :
    which HD file option i should choose for exporting ? 1080 or 720 ? and 25fps or 24fps ?

    please help.

again it depends on what the specs of the projector are, what it accepts and how's it connected - hdmi, component, composite, other?

Most people refer to the DVD-Video format when they say "DVD", and that excludes data discs.

You'd better verify that the computer can connect in this manner. Many do not.

In fact, I suggest a test run before it's screened. I mean a full-on playback of the entire flick. You don't want something stupid to happen, like the system going into power save, or launching a screensaver.
