Hi,
I'm looking to buy a PCIe card for capturing audio/video on a Linux/Windows workstation (with a preference for Linux).
I would prefer a PCI card because i got bad experience with previous USB capture device and I think it will be more compatible with linux. (but if i'm wrong i'm ok with USB)
The range of video source types is large :
- old camera movies (20 years old and more) from analog input (with the most standards support).
- HDMI input for modern devices (compressed or not)
For the software perspective i will use ffmpeg (on linux).
If standard support is a big consideration, french, german, english standard are the most importants.
My budget wont go more than 200$~200€
Here is and example of product i found : http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/models/ (the Intensity Pro)
Thanks in advance for your suggestions ;D

If you want to do this under Linux you need to research Myth TV and see what cards are supported. Cards that can capture HDMI are almost impossible to find and the few that do it require it to be decrypted (ie. no DVD or BluRay commercial disc captures). Hauppauge makes a PCIe card known as Colossus that can capture unencrypted HDMI.

The Blackmagic Intensity Pro is the only widely available capture device I have heard of that meets all your requirements. AverMedia's competing PCI-e product for uncompressed capture with both HDMI and analog input options (AVerTV HD DVR/DarkCrystal HD Capture Pro model C027) doesn't have Linux drivers available. Hauppage's Colossus does not have Linux drivers available and can only provide H.264 hardware encoding for capture.
