Local stream Recording crashed and now the mp4 files are broken

Hello everybody,

the subject tells my main problem:
I recordet some video files in mp4 with the brodcasting software "X-Split".
I did this tree or four days, after I bought a licence of the software. Some times the software crashed, but I thought nothing of it. I was of the opinion that mp4 files and flv files would behave similarly. I thought they could taken out of the container and played, the same like flv files. But as it turned out, that is not true!
And know I have a big problem!

Some recordings are unimportant game shots. Other important recordings for a university project!
And that's the problem, because this recordings are very important to me. Some of the recordings are tree or more hours long and can not be opend!

I can see how big the file is, when it is created and so on, but I can not see, how long the video is and I can not open/convert it!

I already searched for help in many forums and google, also in the support forum of the brodcasting Software X-Split. But none of the programm can fix the files.

Now you are my last hope! I had extra an installed virtual machine to test without problems as many programs as possible. The most recommended by older topics in this forum. Now I desperate!

I hope you can help me. Specially I have uploaded two files. I hope that someone will download it and try to Recover it. Because I really do not know how to go on!

One of the two files is called "broken.mp4", it is one of the broken files. Unfortunately, the really important files on the university project are too big, so it's a 500 MB file of a game recording. But it would be enough if somebody can fix/repair this file and then tell me how to do it, so I can apply it to the big important files on myself. (The important files are 4 GB or more per file!)

The file "not broken.mp4" is a working record of the same program. As a comparison, if needed.
(I had already tried to fix a copy of the broken file on hexa-level, unfortunately without success, because I am not good at this level!)

You could try video repair tool. It's not free but you can try the demo/trial first. It has worked fine for all the mp4s I have tried repair.

I'm downloading your broken.mp4 and can test it with video repair tool full version also....but it's a very slow download server. Only 30kb/s.

I've tested this program even before. But I'm not sure if I have used the correct settings! It would be really nice if you could also try it once.

If the full Version is working, I will buy a licence. But first I must know, if the software really is working!

Nope, it didn't work.

edit: I forgot to use the working file in video repair tool. I will try that later tonight.

edit2: It takes too long to download from rapidshare...the not_broken one.

first of all I would like to apologize that I am only now reported. But I was at a seminar.

Are there any other program that can help me?
Or directly by a hexa editor?

I got them with Treasured (Mac) but you can get similar results with http://mp4repair.org (don't forget to use also the good file to help the video tool)

wow, that's amazing!
Now my English is not so good, that I can understand the system of "Treasured" compleatly. I hope it's not so bad if I here briefly ask:

As far as I understand it, there's this software for one-time $ 89 purchase and you can then repair as many files as you whant with it (with a mac).

Or, if you have no mac, you can use the site to restore the files, but here you pay per file!

is that correct? or have I misunderstood it?
Again, I apologize that my English is not the best!
