I get many hits on a search phrase but the post dates are random when going from page to page.

The goal is to review the newest threads on a given subject.

I don't want to read threads that are several years old but those that are the latest discussions.

    Can that be done?

Sorry for such an elementary question.

The google search is not ordered by date. Use https://forum.videohelp.com/search.php?search_type=1&contenttypeid=1&forumchoice[]= instead. No phrase supported though.

I'm going to add a sort by date to google search.

For now can you add more:recent4 to your google search. Like
    Code:
    "dvd to avi" more:recent4
