I converted a DivX movie (23.976fps, so I assume its NTSC ??) to a VCD.
I live in Europe, so that means PAL here
I made a VCD out of this DivX movie using TMPGenc & the following configuration:
- PAL Aspect Ratio 4:3 625 line
- Framerate: 23.976fps (= NTSC (?) since the source DivX was 23.976 and I didn't want to do framerate conversion cauz it f*cks up the playback (cf. skips while playing it)
I play my VCD's on a Lenco DVD-511 H standalone DVD player ( http://www.lenco.de/av/product/dvd511h.html ) and a modern PAL 16:9 TV set.
I didn't play this kind of VCDs before (with mixed PAL/NTSC settings).
Can anyone confirm me THIS VCD will play fine on my DVD/TV ??
Big thanks in advance!![]()

If you are making an NTSC VCD (e.g., 29.97 fps source), then just use the default NTSC VCD settings.
If you are making an NTSC-FILM VCD (e.g., 23.976 fps source), then just use the NTSC-FILM VCD settings.
Ditto for PAL.
Most VCD/DVD players will be able to play FILM VCDs just fine.
Most PAL TVs are multisystems so it shouldn't have a problem playing back an NTSC source. If you have an older TV, you may have to set your player to force output to PAL.
