  1. I have 3 HDDs...if one of them is acting bad or on the verge of collapse, even if the HDD with the OS installed on is good, cause the entire system to go down?

    yes. or act weird, or be so slow it acts like it's crashed. the o.s. is trying to access them and not having any luck.

    If you are speaking about physical damage to a computer's hardware components, No. But as Jagabo & Aedipuss posted above, it can bugger and corrupt data, files, programs and Operating System sometimes.
