    Hi guys

This site is great, however I respect that it is for video issues only. What are the good general Internet / Computer Help Forums?

I have lots of IT / internet queries re online TV, torrents, ebooks, file sharing, getting my laptop to run better, IPOD, iTunes, security, viruses & so on.

I am happy for anyone to email me if they prefer to: jackie.hendrixxx@gmail.com

    Thanks in advance

First lesson... never post your email address in an open message. Spam-robots will eat you.

The rest of your request is like walking into the biggest library in the universe, finding a good book on video and then saying "so, what books do you suggest for everything else I could learn?" Where to even start?

But, in an attempt to be helpful. Start with https://groups.google.com

I know, some people despise it and think it's evil but it's a reasonably painless way to see SOME kind of grouping of usenet discussions. Be warned, lots of trash, lots of dead subjects, lots of spam. But, I found videohelp years ago when someone posted a comment in a usenet thread so it's not entirely useless.

  4. That's why they have search engines:

Enter this line in any of the many general search engines:

    internet computer help forums

Sample them. What' is "good" you have to decide for yourself.
A lot depends on your skill level in the forum subject categories.

    1: http://www.annoyances.org ... computer related
    2: http://forums.techguy.org ... malware related
    3: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com ... similar to 2
4: http://www.tech-forums.net/pc/forum.php ... something for everything ... pretty good all round
5: http://www.techsupportforum.com/ ... well covered and layout ... might be first choice

But as with all things over time links which might be helpful eventually become dead and original poster or helper long gone ... you could be looking for a while.

...And, since many users here are NOT one-trick ponies, we also have lots of other skills and interests.

IOW, you COULD post some of those questions on this forum (in the "Off-topic" or other pertinent sections). Lots of what you mentioned are also relevant to other videohelp users.

***Note: don't forget: DO NOT ask about WAREZ (so tread lightly when talking about p2p, torrents, etc).

    Thanks for all your replies.

"Off-topic" sounds a neat idea, and I'll check out a few of the other sites.

Such a learning mountain YEY for forums

Yeah, i was wondering why that came up but.....
Maybe because of your "torrent/file sharing" reference.
If you are "file sharing" or "torrenting", maybe you should learn about "warez".

This is one site that has helped me out a few times over the last 10 years when i hit an issue and no one else seemed to be able to help,

  11. Yeah what the heck are torrents? the only torrents i know are the ones that come from the Niagara, Nile, Chang Jiang (Yangtze), and the Mississippi rivers...

Tread lightly on peer-to-peerp, torrents, and wares, unless you want to get bitten by malware
