I am looking for some paid or free (don't care how much) software to QUICKLY and easily convert/transcode my MKV's. It doesn't matter what the output file is as long as it's playable via PS3 or 360. The size and quality need to be as close to the original as possible.
I just need someone to point me in the right direction for a really good piece of software. Xmedia Recode and MKVtoMP4 are already on my list to try, didn't know of any other good applications.
Thanks for any help!
Edit: Adhering to "fast," anything that uses CUDA + multicore? Quad Core i7 + 580 SLI + 560 Physics would translate to fast I would think.

Some of you MKV files can probably be remuxed into MP4. Try Yamb, AviDemux. -

Ah!! I didn't know the difference. Well then, maybe I should look around more ... I might find something even faster.
YAMB doesn't recognize MKV files. Avidemux seems to be a tad faster actually processing but it takes way too long just to import the file in the first place. I would still say Avidemux is faster overall but I also need batch remuxing which leaves it out of the loop, unless there is something I am missing.Last edited by Pyrophoric; 12th Jan 2012 at 18:05.

Depending on the size of your library, in the end you're probably better off to just spend the money on a media box which can play mkv files directly, which is pretty well all of them. The endless hours you will spend in converting the videos just aren't worth it in my opinion.
