I recorded a football game from my DVR to my DVD Recorder (3 DVDs in 1 Hour HQ Mode each) and would like to use the preferred program to import the DVDs into my computer. I have used WinX DVD Copy Pro and Platinum to do this in the past (In MPEG File Format). I'm looking for the best possible settings (Frame Rate, Format, etc) to achieve a high quality picture. I am wanting to put my football game on to one disc (DVD-DL) with commercials totally edited out. I have used Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD to edit out the commercials in the past. My main concern is the quality of the imported files. Is there some other program that can be used with higher settings? I have Sony Vegas 10 and DVD Architect and I'm still learning those. Just want to know if I'm getting the most out of WinX DVD. The frame rate is 29.97, I believe, with audio at 320 kbps and in MPEG format.

I hope this is plenty of info. Thanks for any help.

You could use VOB2MPG and get an exact copy of the DVD media extracted to MPEG 2 format. No quality loss. Then edit and convert them to your desired format.
