  1. First, I'd like to mention that I'm such a newbie that I really don't know what a .bin file is supposed to do or what CDRDAO is or anything but I've been making VCD's pretty well for the past few days after having followed the "DivX to VCD All-in-One-Guide" to the letter.

The problem I have is this - just that when I try to burn my Mpeg1 files to a CD-RW with VCDEasy - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't work I always get the message "CDRDAO Write error, Write Error, etc" however it gives me the message the CDRDAO was a success and so were the other burn functions. Generally I just keep trying and eventually it works but it's time-consuming and annoying. What should I be doing to my VCDEasy work smoothly and consistently?
What are the optimum conditions to run the program including other factors like extra open programs, CD-RW quality, etc - or is that even a problem? Thanks in advance...

  2. Seriously anybody know what the deal is with this? It's driving me crazy - the same problem keeps popping up so I can only get a "good burn" so to speak on like the 4th time I try it.

I'm sure somebody has had to deal with this before...get at me...

Whenever I burn a CD (VCD, music or data) I always make sure nothing else is running. Close all apps, anti-virus apps, screen savers etc (Take a look in the task list and close all non-essential processes). Make sure your system's avaiable resources or high before starting the burn.

Anything that takes the CPUs attention away from burning has the potential to ruin the burn.

You can try a different brand of blank or one from a different batch, some burners may be more picky than others.
