I'm using Sony Vegas Studio to make a YouTube ad against a U.S. Representative. I grabbed some pictures of him of the net. I want to make his face look bad and distrustful. My video is going to be a slideshow with background music and voice over, maybe some video but I doubt it. Also I have fonts and titles in it.

Is there a secret to making someone in a still photo look scary and distrustful? I tried using black/white and making the picture all black and white. That does help some in making him look a little more bad. Are there any other tricks I can do?

    Thanks!

Uh, is my original post mean or something? It's what people in politics do - make political ads that promote or attack an idea or person. There is nothing high school like in making a politician look bad in a video.

Maybe I should have said - I'm making a horror video and I need to know how to make the person in the scene look untrustworthy.

This is done with makeup, not Photoshop.

If you want some help, look at the Red Skull post production work from Captain America.
I read about it in magazines, but there may be something online.

So, basically, informed voters would not support your candidate based on true facts, and you have to fabricate a bit of dishonest propaganda against the opposition. That sort of thing may have been effective in the past, but people are a bit more savvy to Photoshopping these days, and it is likely your plan will backfire. If you stoop to such tactics, voters will think you cannot find anything of genuine substance against your attack target and will have sympathy for him/her.

But don't let me stop you. Use whatever image/photo manipulation software at your disposal, and play around with distortions, shadows, discolorations, and the like.

How about starting a blog and complain about their voting record instead of a juvenile stunt.

The best way to make a politician look bad is to let them talk. It seldom takes long for them to say or do something that will prove your point and you can quote/show them accurately.
