  1. Hey guys.
I'd love to get some help and opinions about which one of this 3 laptops to buy.
I need it for video editing. software like Premiere and After effects, and also Photoshop Illustrator.. Basically the productions premium cs5.

Obviously I'd like it to run as smoothly as possible, considering that sometimes more than 1 software is open.

    MSI GX680 640GB 2.2GHz "15.6

    Dell Inspiron N7110 i7-2670QM "17.3

    Asus K53SC i7-2630QM 2.0GHz "15.6

I will really appreciate a quick answer, because I'm in a hurry to buy the laptop.
    Thanks a lot!

Regarding cpu power and ram, I'd tend to buy the MSI or Dell laptop. I myself have a Dell which is by now hundreds of years old, but still serves me pretty well. The bottleneck in all of the three systems may be the 5400rpm harddisk.

    Thanks for the reply!

I think you're right about the 5400rpm, but I need to choose between those 3 this time.
I just got a new contender which I'd be happy to hear what you think about it-

    Dell Inspiron N5110
    Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM Processor 2.2GHz
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 525M 1024MB

IMHO, the same like the ones above. If you need battry power then choose MSI. Downside of it is the weight of approx 3,5 kg - heavy bitch actually .

  6. Ya might be too heavy.. That's why I hope the Dell will do the job..!
I don't need long battery life.. I prefer its less heavy, with good performance. the n5110 looks good doesn't it?

Well, the n5110 and n7110 look pretty much the same, except for the screen size. Your choice if you want 17,3" or 15,6". I'd take the 15,6", since it takes less room. Aside from that I guess you can't go wrong with a Dell.

Personally, I'd go with the Dell for the better CPU and the exctra (nearly) 2" of diagonal screen. After that, you should invest in a couple of external drives. Leave the internal for OS and programs and use your two externals using one as source and one as destination for all your processing. It'll eliminate or at least minimize your disk bottleneck.
    Have a good one,

  9. Also take a look at the Sager notebooks. http://www.sagernotebook.com/

And for video editing you will want the largest screen you can afford. No piddly 15 incher's please.
