Harbor Freight retail store has cheap Chinese digital voltmeters for $3 (with coupon in local newspaper). (Regular price $5). Has ma/amps, ohms etc. Uses 9 volt battery and has big, easy to read numbers.

I know 2 people who have them and IMO those things totally suck. One of them was dead out of the box and the other one was so annoying I couldn't use it since I am used to a much better early 80's Fluke 77 that I bought new when I was 16. I'd really rather see people buy the much better widely available voltmeters that cost ~$20
