VCDXRIP.

I am not good with command line based programs so i was wondering if any one could help me and tell me what i would have to type to get the program running. here is a bit of info on what i want to do

1] rip a vcd that is in my D:\ drive. with vcdxrip
2] save the XML or bin and cue files on my desktop
3] rebuild the vcd using vcd build or burn the .cue file

any help would be great.

Humm try this
try jus Taking out the *.Dat files in your VCD usally located in that MPEGSUMTHING folder. copy that baby there and then use a Conversion program (vcdgear) that would Convert the .DAT file to an .MPEG file THEN...

Use Winimage to import those .MPEG's into a CUE BIN file and then use CDRWIN to burn that baby back into VCD.

So as long as you have your CUE BIN file you can make lots of backups of your VCD thats what i think and maybe if you get realy creative you can make menus but thats sumthing different

timmy, not to be down on you, but what's the point? If all you are interested in is mass copying a VCD, you can just use CDR-Win to extra a CD image of the VCD into a CUE/BIN image on your HDD.

city hunter, if you want to extra the media files off a VCD with an XML descriptor file, you fill need to have the disc in a CUE/BIN image first. That is, you will need CDR-Win to do a sector-by-sector read and write a CUE/BIN disc image onto your HDD.

Then, you can use VCDXRIP on the CUE/BIN image. You can't use VCDXRIP directly on the VCD.

What I'm saying is that if you want to create a CUE/BIN from an existing VCD, doing what you posted is the HARD way -- and that might not even create a compliant VCD structure (actually, it probably won't).

If you want to create a CUE/BIN image from an existing VCD, all you have to do is to get CDR-Win to extract your CD onto your HDD.

yes it works but you may hafto do your chapters yes yes im in the stone age but thats how i learn from using the hard way then using the ezy automated way so i know the manuel steps

Vcdxrip is part of VCDImager. You can download VCDImager from here. You should download the latest 0.7.x version. Don't forget to download the manual (in PDF format) also.
