  1. My first subtitles that I did from my HD worked and now when I try to do the same thing the second time it goes to Readyfor download page that asks me to sign up on this site.

Will this be the last site to sign up with to get my subtitles to work or will I have a bunch more sites to sign up with to get everything to work correctly ?

I have studied and just can not get the subtitles to work. Maybe I'm not using the correct programs to get it to work.

    1) You don't have to sign up to use opensubtitles.org. If you do, check the privacy options, because the site stupidly exposes your contact details by default and you'll get spam.

    2) aedipuss isn't polite but he is correct. "Get them to work" doesn't say a thing. No idea what software you're using or how, or what your problem is. No one can give you any advice till you do that.

I have downloaded subs from there before with no issues.

I actually JUST went there and downloaded subs from the FRONT/MAIN page for Scream 4 with ZERO issues and it was a ZIP file with an SRT file.

Easiest sub in the world to use with a movie.

I have never signed up in any way there.

I have no idea what you are talking about here. The first part of the sentence seems to imply that you extracted the subtitles yourself from some kind of source butt he latter part of the sentence seems to imply in vague terms that you're trying to download subtitles.

Since you told us absolutely nothing about what you want to do and what you used, we cannot really help with that.

What you have done is the equivalent of taking your car to a repair shop, telling them that there is a problem and demanding that they fix it but you never told anyone what the problem is. You're lucky that a couple of guys made the effort to guess what you did and what you want to accomplish. Posts as vague as yours don't always get that.

Actually, it is a little more like leaving your car at home, telling the mechaninc that your car doesn't work, and then demanding that they tell you how to fix it. In your scenario the mechanic at least has the car and can figure out for himself what the problem is.

    tcory,

Opensubtitles.org can have a rather confusing interface if you're not used to it. Look at this post for some tips, particularly posts #7 on down to the end; maybe it will help you to navigate to where you need to go:

    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/283999-English-subtitles-for-Hot-Shots?p=1714507&viewfull=1

In that thread, the link is to opensubtitles.com, but that takes you to opensubtitles.org, so it's the same place.

Not sure if I'm addressing your problem, but what the hell, I'll give it a shot.

Can't recall a problem with this site, either. It is typically a first-stop (out of 20 + subtitle sites that I've bookmarked), where I won't need to keep looking further. There are some other ones that divert you to one dodgey place or another that requires you to first sign up with some dedicated download service, probably after some charge, and my response to all such dubious online crap is a resounding GFY ! Subs may not always be that easy to find, but they should be free and straightforward to obtain when you do.

The interface is confusing alright, I got it going now.

Thanks for your and the other replies.

I have made several TV Show DVD's and I saw a post that I think tells that you can put subtitles on a already burned disc.

Uhm, not that I ever heard of. What you can do is if you already have the video file(s) -- not yet burned to disc -- you can join them with the appropriate subtitles in a DVD that you make with programs like ConvertXtoDVD or AVStoDVD. Or some other programs available in the Tools Section here that I'm not personally familiar with.
