  1. Hello.

I am using SpruceUp with a Pioneer A03 to author DVD's for some videographers.
One of them had this question: is there any way for me to "copy protect" the DVD's I write for them? "Copy protect" means that a typical person couldn't copy them (e.g. people who are not aware of ripping means).
I don't believe there is a simple, cheap solution: I imagine that copy protection is very expensive, such as movie studios use (Macrovision), but is there any simple way?

    Thanks

  2. To my knowledge, it cant be done....CSS/macrovision protection takes place on an inner track on DVD media. The problem is that DVD-R/RWs, DVD+R/RWs do not contain that track. The other problem is the burners that one would buy say at CompUSA are not able to burn to this track as well. This was done to prevent DVD copying b4 someone hacked the CSS code. So really this best way to protect your stuff is not to give it to someone who you think will copy it.

  3. I think that is what authoring discs are for, but I'm not sure. Do a search on the differences between authoring and general media.

    Skewed morals??!!??

Sorry dude, but if I can backup my store "bought" movies, then I can copy anyone you make too.

Best copy protection, DONT give (or lend) your DVD to anyone. Lock it in a safe. then you have unbreakable copy-protection.

Thats just the way it is...
