Philips HTS5520/HTS5530 Region Free Code

Hi,

I purchase a lot of DVDs from abroad and most of them do not work on my new Philips HTS5520 HTS5530 5.1 Home Theatre System. Can someone please provide the DVD region free codes for this DVD player? Any help much appreciated.

hi i bought the same HTS5530 and had the same problem, but followed the steps below from one of the sites and it got solved.

follow below:

step 1: open dvd tray
step 2: enter 9 9 9 9 0 thru your remote
step 3: close tray

thats it. enjoy your DVD of any region!

99990 does not work on HTS5530.
I did the following:
1. Goto Disc mode.
2. Eject the disc tray.
3. Goto setup.
4. Enter the code: 138931 using the remote
5. This opens the DVD region menu. Change the code by the UP arrow on remote, to zero.
