Blue Ray Player which plays regular DVDs with region codes 1 and 2

Sorry if I am misusing this thread here. I want to upgrade to a HDTV and also a Blue Ray Player.
My technology knowledge is probably 10 years behind and I have absolutely no clue in regards to Blue Ray Players.
Friend of mine told me that there are Bue Ray Players which also play regular DVD and which are also internet capable.
Anyhow I need a Blue Ray Player which plays regular DVDs with region codes 1 and 2.
Do Blue Ray DVDs still have region codes?
I am a European living in the US and I still want to to buy movies in Europe which I cannot get in the US. Blue Ray or not Blue Ray.
Meaning the DVD Player needs to play regular DVDs and Blue Ray DVDs from all regions. Plus internet would be great.

Do these exist? Can I buy them in the US or do I have to buy one and hack it myself as I did in the past?

All Blu-ray players can play DVDs. Blu-ray discs have region codes much like DVDs but the regions are a little different:

Blu-ray players that are region free for Blu-ray discs are very rare. Blu-ray players that are region free for DVD are not as rare, but there aren't a lot of them. Keep your DVD player for region free DVD playback.

Thanks so far... I did some research and it looks like there are some players which are region free for Blue Ray and DVD. I don't mind paying a $100 more if it works since we will always have DVDs from different regions.
