  1. Hey guys,

i have a problem with subtitels and how i get them to the mkv container.
I want to add a subtitel file to an existing mkv container. The main problem is, to make my Philips BDP 7500MKII playing this subtitels right. Since i didnt want to see the subtitels in standart type, i tried to change the font. I used subtitelworkshop to convert form srt to ssa ( it seemed to be the best option) and to change the type. So far, so good. Even the playback on vlc and gomplayer works well.
I also attached the *.ttf file to the mkv container. For this reason, the video also works on other pc's, without the font.
BUT, my BD Player is apparently not able to play this file. Indeed, it accepts the subtitels, but it still uses the standart font, like before.

Is it possible, to integrate subtitles including a special text type, that are playable for every BD player that can handle ssa? I believe, there is a way, especially since there are non standard types used on blu rays, as well.

    Please help me,

    MX 117

PS: Sorry for my bad english and greetings from Germany.

  2. Standalone devices usually only have one font. If you want a different font you'll have to use graphic subtitles instead of text subtitles -- if you player supports graphic subtitles.
