  1. Hi

I want to convert an SWF file to a Quicktime file with specific codecs.... the specs are as follows :-

    ...Codec*
    Apple ProRes 422(HQ)
    Bitjazz Sheer Y’CbCr 10bv
    10 bit Uncompressed 4:2:2
    8 bit Uncompressed 4:2:2
    Blackmagic 10 bit
    Apple DV25

    Audio Stereo:
LPCM in either Big Endian or Little Endian,
    16-*bit or 24-*bit, at least 48kHz

If I get this wrong, the place where I need to submit the final file to will charge me £60 to put it right...... so need to make sure it's done correctly first time.

Can any kind soul please help ?

I'd like to know if there is 1 piece of software that will achieve this ? and if so, link ?
I've struggled to find any info and nobody I know can assist.

Help me videohelp.com, you're my only hope.

There is NO single app that can do this.

What you want to do really consists of 2 steps:
    1. Converting whatever the contents of the SWF file is to an "Interim Master" (lossless, etc)
    2. Batch converting the Interim Master to multiple copies of various codecs.

The 1st part is hard because you never know what the contents of a SWF file is. Could be simple FLV video, or h.263 or On2VP6,7,8 or Sorenson or h.264...
    OR
It could be a complicated & layered composition of Shockwave Sprites, Text & other segments.
If it's the 1st kind, you maybe can demux the video with FLV Extract, and then open the file in a supporting editor/converter (try Super, Vdub, AVISynth for starters).
If it's the 2nd kind, you're going to have to do a screen cap (try FRAPs, etc).
Save either output to AVI (using HuffYUV, Lagarith, etc) or MOV (using Animation @100%, etc).
*Make sure you don't change the resolution and/or AR at this stage.

2nd part, you can use any batch (or non-batch) converter that supports Quicktime (Quicktime, Compressor, Cleaner, ProCoder, Telestream Episode, MPEGStreamClip, SorensonSqueeze, VisualHub?, etc).
*Make sure you already have installed AT LEAST the Quicktime ENCODER portions of plugin/component varieties you need to get to.

  3. Thanks for this.

To clarify, my initial input will ALWAYS be an SWF comprising of basic flash animation, shapes etc (see any file here : http://www.highasakoit.co.uk)

The output file only needs to be ONE of those codecs

So I need to get hold of 2 bits of software to achieve the end result.

Also, will the audio parts automatically upon using these software packages end up as they need to be in my specs ?

    Thanks
