Just wondering about Kodak dvd-r's and their reliability, if they have any. I saw some at Fry's pretty cheap and was wondering if they're worth buying.

It depends on the Kodaks: Some appear to by Taiyo Yudens, others may be Ritek. You may not know until you read the media code.

These looked to TY media - based on the plastic packaging http://www.frys.com/product/6479252?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Others looked to be Riteks: http://www.frys.com/product/6357121?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

I'd (and I have) look at supermediastore and meritline and rima for JVC or TY media - unless the price is drawing you to this.

(the price isn't special to me).

I agree with this. My feeling is what it always is - either you care enough to pay for what you know is good or you do not. If you don't care because you are too cheap or too poor then just buy whatever fits your budget and hope for the best. I'm really not getting all these recent posts from people trying to save small amounts of money and get "good" media at "bad" media prices at physical stores. My store experience is that I come out ahead just ordering online once I add in my time to get to the store, look around and come back and the sales tax. And that's not even counting fuel costs to drive to the store. To each his own, but personally my time is very worthwhile, even if only to me, and I'm tons happier NOT having to get in the stupid car and drive 15+ minutes to get to my local Best Buy or Fry's when I can just order my discs online and wait for them to come to my house.
