I'm looking for a media manager that can (of course) do the following:

    - organize videos into tags
    - tags can be assigned to multiple videos and vice versa

So far, nearly every media manager can do that. BUT here is where it becomes tricky:

    - tags can be assigned multiple timepoints/bookmarks/chapters of videos (jump directly to specific scene) + custom thumbnail for that scene
    - tags should be able to be represented by a thumbnail ("picture tags" instead of text tags)

Second point it optional, but I really need the bookmark feature. I tried Picasa, trial versions of ACDSee, Premiere Elements Organizer, but so far the best I see is just tagging of video files I also looked into VLC and KM Player, they support bookmarks, but they can't be organized into tags... Maybe I overlooked something.

Please don't confuse media manager with DVD/movie cataloging software. I'm talking random video files, not movie collection (as in All My Movies, Movienizer, DVD Profiler,..).

There's a very excellent media manager, that does that, built in to Sony Vegas Pro. It uses tags and a whole lot more.
