ASDA DVDHDMI01 Region 2 Hack

I have a ASDA DVDHDMI01 player and it is locked to region 2. I was wondering if anyone has a hack for the region 2 player as they all seem to be for other regions and the one on sale in america is region 0 to start off with. I bought it in asda in the UK.

If anyone could post a hack or knows one, the information would be much appreciated

Are you really sure the one on sale in America is region 0? That would be highly unusual for a variety of reasons. If you're basing this on what somebody told you, I'd discount that. I've never heard of this brand before. Selling a DVD player in the USA or Canada as region 0 out of the box is kind of dumb because the vast majority of consumers care nothing about this and some region 1 DVDs won't play if the DVD player is set to region 0 due to RCE on the discs. Anyway, I'm not sure this player is sold at all in North America. Presumably ASDA is a store name and that store name means nothing to me as an American.

Other UK posters report this player as "region free out of the box" in the UK though. I took a quick look and didn't see any hacks anywhere for this model, but I hardly was exhaustive about it.

Note that some manufacturers may make hardware and/or firmware changes during production to deliberately break region free mode and you simply may be unlucky in that you waited too long to buy one and it was the earlier ones that were unlocked, not what you just bought.

es you may know asda as WallMart in America, sorry about that and from the research i have done on the internet it seems that some are region 1 and some are set to region 0. I have also done research on the internet and i can not find a hack anywhere either.
The dvd player i have (listed above) says it is region 2 and will not play any other dvds that are region 1 for example, hence i need to find a hack. If anyone does know one for this dvd player it would be much apreciated
