I have this old analog Sony 26" TV, that i use for my room in my vacation home. It seems that there's an issue with it, and the picture has some kind of a cyan tint. I believe when i was younger, i spilled some cough syrup accidentally on the back of its top, where there's some holes (Is this where the SET ventilates?), so this could be the source of this problem. Since i like this TV, for the purpose it serves. Is there something that can be done, to restore it to a non-faulty condition?

If the tint is off just a little, probably can be re-calibrated by a shop. If one color is missing entirely, then it may be a damaged part. With CRT TV sets, there are lethal voltages in there, not really something you want to deal with yourself unless you are very familiar with the dangers.
Some sets have accessible controls on the back, but you can easily make the problem worse unless you know what you are doing. I'd take a look if you don't want the spend the money on it. But keep track of where you turn the controls so you can restore it to the original setting if needed. If you have to stick any tool inside to turn the controls, make sure it's plastic.
