  1. Hello, I have been using my PS3 and Windows Media Server to play/listen to files for about 6 months. I use a WIRED Gigabit network, and until last weekend never had any issues. I have lots of AVCHD files that always played very well, on both the PS3 and WMP12 on my PC, with no problems whatsoever.

As of last weekend, my PS3 never finds the media server. I have checked all the settings (UPnP activatred, streaming is ON, all the usual stuff you are told to check first). I have not changed anything on my PC anyway.

I know some will say use PS3 Media Server, but for some reason this has never worked for me. Windows Media Server always worked fine.

Also, the AVCHD files that are stored on the PC, will not playback correctly in WMP12. They used to, but now they are a little odd. They are not slow, but when the camera moves, lines appear on objects. The sound is fine. I am pretty sure my hardware is up to the Job (Quad Core 2.83 with 8MB RAM, ATI Radeon HD4600 series).

I am completely stuck as to what has changed, which has made this happen.

The only other thing I have done in the last week, is use DVD Shrink to start copying some of my original DVDs. I have stored these on an external hard drive. I did try to include them in the Media Server File list too.

Any help will be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

sounds like it happened about when sony forced their last update on ps3s. check with ps3 boards to see if the firmware update caused it and if there is anything that can be done.
