    Hello everyone,
    I am new to the form and I have a question about my Direct TV rf15-500 DVR. I need to know if I can get the video that I have recorded off the hard drive and transfer it to a computer. Are these DVRs liniux or uniux? Can I hook up said hard drive to a computer and read the info? I am totally green in this area and will greatly appreciate any guidance the forum can give me. Thank you so much for your help.

    Last time I looked into this, you couldn't remove the files directly from the HDD. Aside from just the HDD format, there is also an encryption key.

    Someone will correct me if Im wrong.
