using mpeg streamclip, i would like to convert a .mov to a highest quality .avi for all/most computers to see. not mean for online use. i have tried many variations in the export .avi settings, but i always end up w/ vid w/o sound or the opposite. i am testing em by dropping em back into mpeg streamclip as QT wont play them, correct? not sure the whole flow to get a great .avi??? thanx for the help!

    here's the answer:

From FCP you export to QuickTime Conversion. From Format you select AVI. In Options you can select Cinepak, which is ancient and truly dreadful, DV, or None. If you set None, set the frame rate, and push quality up to high you'll get a high data rate AVI file.
