I would like to help a friend sell or part exchange their Pro video HD camera to get a DSLR that shoots 1080p/24p video.
The camera is a Sony HDR-FX1:

I've tried London Camera Exchange but I think this camera is outside of their area of interest, they weren't interested in a deal.
I'm thinking about ebay.co.uk and cex.co.uk
Any experiences and/or advice on other places.

Write up a great page yourself about the camera, condition, accessories, etc. with lots of pictures. Then, put the auction on ebay.co.uk starting at 1 pound which will garner many bids

Better add a reserve price as well unless you want me to buy it for one pound

Check the eBay completed listings for Sony HDR-FX1 to see what you might get for it.
For goodness sake offer to pack+post it properly - 99% of the UK population is too far from your place to come and pick it up.
Cheers,
David.
