It's more than just a transfer. You need a DVD authoring program that can transcode it to DVD format.

The Flip video is 1280X720(16:9) and DVD is 720X480(4:3) so it will have to be letterboxed or zoomed by the authoring software.

Look in the DVD/How To/Author section on the left.

  5. Yes, iMovie along with iDVD does the job. After importing your movie, doing any editing etc. you'll share it to iDVD...

Just a minor correction here you can author a 16:9 dvd yourself but I am not sure about mac software. On a pc at least you can set 16:9 flags to preserve the widescreen ratio. I've done it countless times on my vista pc.

I've never used imovie but I would imagine it has a 16:9 output option to keep the video widescreen.

Edit - also if you have a bluray player that can play avchd you can preserve your high def on dvdr media. I don't know what software will do it on a mac. For a pc you would use multiavchd to do this. Of course if its larger than a dual layer dvdr it would have to be transcoded to fit the media or split to multiple discs if you want to preserve the original video.

I would look into avchd software for the mac if you do have a bluray player and want to keep the hd intact.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

none actually 'cause Apple didn't implement UDF2.5 format for burning (and no free/shareware soft provide it, maybe Toast?)

    bye
    For DVD, iPad, HD, connected TV, … iMovie & FCPX? MovieConverter-Studio 3 (01/24/2015) - Handle your camcorder's videos? even in 60p or 60i? do a slow-motion? MovieCam.
