Hi, I am doing DVD->SVCD using Smartripper, DVD2AVI, Tmpgenc. The movie is 16:9 aspect ratio, but the source information says 4:3 and there are black bars on top and bottom of the film. So I have to choose 4:3 in the source aspect ratio. How can I crop the black bars when encoding, so that I can use all bit rates only on the film to improve the quality? Thanks,

using dvd2avi load the film then goto the video section and choose clip and resize move he slider at the bottom till you get a good clear picture then change the video aspect to free this will let you move the top and bottom sliders to get rid of the black borders, then process the movie as normal, the finished movie will have no black borders, hope this helps, Ogre
