This is the first time I encode avi to svcd and I would like too know if I should encode the video and audio separately?
As in just encode my video with Tmpgenc 4.0 Xpress and then convert the audio with EncWAVtoAC3 and mux them together to get a better result? Thanks in advanced
Theirs is 8 episodes with a total of 3 h 8 min 5 sec and Im planning on putting them on a 4.7 Dvd.

SVCD is for CD-ROM media and should have .mp2 (not .ac3) audio. The SVCD video resolution is not valid for DVD-Video.
It is simpler to let a video encoder also handle the audio. It may even help the sync, when both streams are processed together. Doing the audio separately should be a last resort, when all else has failed/has not been satisfactory. -

Real SVCD is written to CD-R in "Mode 2 Form 2", just like VCD and CD-i. This use of cramming 13% more bytes into a disc sector isn't supported by DVD media.
There are a few set top players that are willing to play unauthored, SVCD compatible MPEG files on data DVD, but it is not a standard.
There are some set top players that are willing to play DVD-Video (VIDEO_TS) with SVCD resolution (480x480), but it is out of spec.
All (NTSC) DVD players should be able to play DVD-Video (VIDEO_TS) with reduced resolution of 352x480 (Half-D1) or 352x240. -
Thanks Case, my dvd player didnt play my the media I burned. I must of done it wrong so Im going to keep trying.
