I just purchased a 16 pack, $9.99 of 99min. 850MB CD-R's from CompUSA, They work great, fantastic for VCD's and SVCD's. I made a SVCD and it played in every APEX DVD player I tried.
Be Advised these will only work if you have NERO's 5.5 with the latest update. Plus you must set up the overburn correctly so it will work. I also notice that NERO is all ready prepared for new 120min. 1050MB CD-r's as the settings are all ready on their software.
Don't bother asking the compusa salesperson any question on these CD=R's as they advised me that they would not work on my year old HP 8x4x32 Burner. I even burned them at the 8x speed on it with no problem, the CD-R manufacture recomends the 4x speed or slower because of possible errors.
My Son has a SONY 8x4x32 we will try later to see if they work on that burner.
Going back tomorrow to get another pack.

99min is the maximum allowable under Red Book (i.e., ordinary CDs) without modification to how a CD is addressed..
The 120 min CD-R are not ordinary CDs and can not be read or burnt with ordinary CD drives. They require their own special drives.
99min media push beyond what is required physically in the CD specifications and are not read or burnt properly/well/at all in many drives.
